Parent Teacher Conference

I only got to speak to two of William's teachers. The other three had abandoned the ship by the time I made it. It's a buffet style conference, and I didn't get there early enough. I spoke with his Debate teacher and his German teacher. I heard words like "delightful", "brilliant" and "bright". I am not used to this type of glowing praise, especially with no hanging "but..." attached. I will admit I got a little teary eyed on the way home. William starts debate competitions next month, and he'll be allowed to do some expository speaking. His debate coach has a lot of confidence in him. His German teacher would like for him to complete all of his assignments, and not only the ones he deems worthy, but she has no complaints about his behavior or aptitude. She seemed impressed with his affinity for the language. I am impressed myself!
